Ben Selinger A.M. is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological
Sciences and Engineering, Royal Australian Chemical Institute, the
Academy of Forensic Sciences and a Member of the Royal Institution of
Great Britain. He has served on the Council of the Australian Consumers
Assoc., Canberra Consumers, CSIRO Advisory Board, and on the National

My areas of interest include:
- Chemistry in the
Marketplace - in continuous print for 35 years.
- Chemicals, Health and the Law (Versel Scientific Consultants)
- For the Australian Government, I have
chaired the Independent Panel on Intractable Waste and the Scheduled
Waste Working Group, followed by Chair of the Board of Directors of the
National Registration
Authority for agricultural and veterinary chemicals, as well as
numerous consultancies such as , asbestos, use of DDT in the Solomon
Islands, illicit drugs manufacture in Australia, gas poisoning on HMAS
Stalwart, scheduled waste at ICI Botany. I am currently working for the
Olympic
Co-ordiantion Authority on issues related to the (contaminated)
Olympic Site.
- I initiated an ABC talk-back programme 'Dial-a-Scientist' and am
actively involved in media presentation of science.
- Awarded Member of the Order of Australia (2007).
- Made a life member of CHOICE (Australian Consumers Association) 2007
