Prof. Michael Collins

BSc PhD Sydney

Michael Collins is the Associate Director of Students at the Research School of Chemistry.

He graduated from the University of Sydney with a BSc (hons) and received his PhD from the University of Sydney.

He has since held positions at the Maassachusetts Institute of Technology (1977-1978), the Australian National University (1978-1985), the University of Chicago (1980-1981), the University of Cambridge (1982) before being appointed Senior Research Fellow at the Research School of Chemistry.

He was awarded the Rennie Medal (1984) and the Physical Chemistry Division Medal of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (2003).

He was appointed Professor at the Research School of Chemistry in 2003.
