The Research School of Chemistry offers training of the highest international standard spanning all aspects of chemical research. The School is keen to recruit students of the highest scholastic calibre from within Australia and abroad. The primary aim of the School is to conduct chemical research of the utmost standard and in so doing provide the most intellectually stimulating environment in which to train and educate promising scientists.
Chemistry students will undertake their studies in a world-class research environment that includes state-of-the-art technical facilities and support, and will also have the chance to interact with internationally renowned researchers. Our School has a vibrant atmosphere resulting from the presence of large numbers of Masters and PhD students, and Post-Doctoral Research Fellows, and we warmly welcome new students to our academic community!
A large number of international scientists visit the Research School of Chemistry each year, contributing to research projects, the extensive seminar series and graduate lecture courses. Collaboration with other universities, government laboratories and industry also feature in our graduate student programs.
Laboratories are fully equipped to international standards with excellent facilities in computing and computer graphics, spectroscopy (optical, infrared, EPR, NMR), mass spectrometry, electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography.
