A series of laboratory exercises in synthetic organic, inorganic and organometallic chemistry will be offered that are designed to further develop the synthetic chemistry skills learnt in Chemical Structure and Reactivity I and Chemical Structure and Reactivity II. This laboratory-based course is also designed to further develop students' skills in spectral analysis and particularly in the interpretation of IR, NMR, UV-Vis and mass spectra, as related to the compounds synthesised by them. Note that Experiments 8 and 9 are particularly pertinent to students enrolled in Physical Aspects of Inorganic Chemistry.
