Rita Cornforth Fellowship Seminar - How Does It Work, And Why Does It Matter?

Date & time

2–3pm 26 August 2014

Building #138, Seminar Room 3.104

Dr Tamara Church

 Jo Bayley

My research to date has mostly been related to catalysis, but has also had another common theme:  I’m interested in learning how a chemical system works, and then applying that information to improve or expand a system. In my seminar, I’ll draw on some examples of this theme from my research background. I’ll discuss how to turn a two-component coupling into a three-component coupling, how to build a better CO2 sorbent, and how much dye adsorption is too much dye adsorption.  I’ll also talk a bit about two catalysis-related problems I’d like to understand in the future.
