Rita Cornforth Fellowship Seminar - A Mechanistic Tour in Inorganic Chemistry: from Molecules to Macromolecules to Nanomaterials

Date & time

Understanding the mechanistic details involved in synthesis at different length scales is fundamental to improving these processes and obtaining control over the structure of the resulting molecule, macromolecule, or nanostructure. This presentation will focus on three recent research projects performed during my postdoctoral fellowship in the Manners group:  1) metal-free hydrogen transfer from amine-boranes to aminoboranes  2) mechanistic insight into the catalytic formation of poly(methylaminoborane) 3) factors which influence the crystallization driven self-assembly of block copolymers.  A brief outline discussing the research I propose to undertake at ANU will also be presented.
