Physical Biochemistry of Disease

We are concerned with the physical investigation of biochemical processes related to disease states. The three major disease areas studied are (i.) amyloid formation and its molecular relationship to amyloidosis, (ii.) virus adsorption as a limiting process to infection, and  (iii.) intracellular transport and its relationship to cell signaling and cancer development. We use a combination of theoretical and experimental methods ranging from computing to molecular biology, cell biology and biochemical techniques.
