International applicants should note that the University requires evidence of an adequate standard of English.
Unless your undergraduate studies were undertaken in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States of America you will normally have to sit for either the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Test conducted by IDP Education Australia or the British Council or The American Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
You should send the result to the University with your application or as soon as possible. The University generally requires: for IELTS an overall band score of 6.5 together wish a score of at least 6.0 in all components; for TOEFL a score of 570 or better and a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5.
For full details of English Language Requirements please see: http://info.anu.edu.au/studyat/International_Office/getting_in/englishreqmts
It is preferable that students sit for an IELTS, rather than a TOEFL, test as the Department of Immigration will only accept IELTS results from some countries.
