Bruce Wild graduated with a BSc (hons) from the University of New South Wales and received his PhD from the University of Manchester.
He has since held positions at Technische Hochschule München (1967-1968) University College, London (1968-1969), University of Toronto (1969-1970), University of Western Australia (1970-1979) before his appointment as Fellow in the Research School of Chemistry.
He has been awarded Fellowships of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (1983) and the Royal Society of Chemistry (1997) and has been elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (2003).
He was promoted to Professor at the Research School of Chemistry in 2003.
