Mr Aidan Grosas

Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Honours (Class I); Master of Teaching (Secondary) – Western Sydney University
PhD Candidate

Aidan completed his undergraduate studies majoring in Chemistry at Western Sydney University (WSU) and obtained a First-Class Honours investigating the binding of copper(I) to the neuropeptide neurokinin B, under the supervision of Dr Christopher Jones. Soon after, Aidan completed a Master of Teaching (Secondary) while concurrently working as a Research Assistant to assess the efficacy of formative testing in a second year undergraduate unit, under the supervision of Professor Thomas Millar.

Aidan is currently a PhD candidate in the Research School of Chemistry (RSC) at the Australian National University (ANU), working on elucidating the structure and function of the small heat-shock protein alpha-crystallin. Aidan is directly supervised by Professor John Carver (ANU) and co-supervised by Dr Patrice Castignolles (WSU). Concurrent with his PhD studies, Aidan was also a Postgraduate Teaching Fellow in the RSC which involved demonstrating and tutoring across first and second year units as well lecturing in the Chemistry Bridging Course.
