Mr Steven Welsh

PhD Candidate

Steven Welsh grew up in eastern Scotland and after completing his high school education he attained a Higher National Certificate in Applied Sciences with a specialization in chemistry at Adam Smith College. Following on from this he went on to study at Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh) and in 2018 was awarded a Master’s (MChem) degree in chemistry with honours of the first class. Furthermore, for his research into the chemistry of carbon-bridged metallacarbonanes he was awarded the Dr James Sandilands prize by HWU.

Welsh started his PhD in the Hill Group in October 2018 where, currently, he is trying to explore and develop the chemistry of early transition metal poly(methimazolyl)borate complexes.
