Prof. Valeska Ting

Prof Valeska Ting (CEng, FHEA, FIMMM) is the Associate Dean for Engagement, Research and Impact for the College of Systems & Society, as well as a Professor of Smart Nanomaterials in the Research School of Chemistry at the Australian National University.
She leads a team of researchers interested in exploring the use of functional nanoporous materials to address challenges in sustainable technologies. She was the 2014 recipient of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE)'s Sir Frederick Warner Medal, the UK's Parliamentary and Scientific Committee's STEM for Britain Westminster Medal and was named one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering in Sustainability in 2020.

Valeska is also an accomplished STEM communicator, was an BAME Expert Voice for the BBC Academy, has presented public lectures and training for the IChemE, Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Materials, Mining and Minerals (IOM3) and helped to develop video content on the laws of thermodynamics to support the 2016 Royal Institution Christmas lectures which have been collectively viewed over 1 million times on YouTube.
