About
Prof Valeska Ting (CEng, FIMMM) is the Associate Dean for Engagement, Research and Impact for the College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics, as well as a Professor of Smart Nanomaterials in the Research School of Chemistry at the Australian National University.
She is also affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bristol, where she leads a team of researchers interested in exploring the use of functional nanoporous materials to address challenges in sustainable technologies. She was named one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering in Sustainability in 2020, was awarded a prestigious EPSRC Research Fellowship in Energy Materials and served on the EPSRC Strategic Advisory Committee for the cross-council Energy Theme.
Valeska is also an accomplished STEM communicator, is an BAME Expert Voice for the BBC Academy, and has presented public lectures on composites for the Bristol Composites Institute, public webinars on energy storage for the Institution of Chemical Engineers, Nanomaterials Masterclasses for the IOM3 and video content on the laws of thermodynamics to support the 2016 Royal Institution Christmas lectures which have been collectively viewed over 1 million times on YouTube
