The RSC hosts a new world-class facility enables research into new battery storage technologies including lithium-ion, sodium-ion and potassium-ion batteries, hybrid capacitors and supercapacitors. It supports the characterisation, development and performance testing of battery materials, electrolytes and devices.
The Battery Materials and Energy Storage Laboratory (the Battery Lab) was officially unveiled via an online event on Tuesday, 16 February 2021. You can watch the online recording here. Never before has the role of battery storage in the global energy transition been so pronounced. This event showcases the new lab located in the RSC and highlighted the important role it will play for both industry partners and the research community.
