The synthesis of organic molecules is at the core of countless industries, from pharmaceuticals to next generation functional materials. Since these compounds are structurally complex, traditionally it has taken a lot of time and effort to make them. Our approach to more efficient synthesis uses domino reactions, which are spectacular events that assemble organic compounds quickly by forming many new covalent bonds in a single synthetic operation. Such processes have huge benefits: less chemicals, consumables, time and energy are needed, hence lower environmental impact and lower cost. One of the many types of domino processes available for projects in 2023-2024 is shown below.
